In regards to the name...during the medieval time period, butterflies were believed to be birds that appeared in the warm weather, leading to the name “Summer Birds” and “Summer Owls” for moths. This name reflects my fascination with how our understanding of these creatures has evolved and I can’t help but wonder what we have yet to discover about them!
