Gymnastics is the Best Sport in the World

I started gymnastics at age 6 and started competing on team at age 7. I learned at a very young age the importance of dedication, discipline, and teamwork. Gymnastics is not for the weak, the sport is tough, maybe even the toughest sport in the world. A gymnast has multiple events they need to train in, and each event is completely different. From the powerful impact of vault and tumbling, to the grace and form you develop from dance skills and balancing on a beam, multiple life skills are enhanced in a young athlete. A gymnasts training makes them very versatile in body and in mind.

Gymnastics does this amazing thing as it helps to build the brain as we train and compete. The amount of focus that goes into the 4-6 hours of training every day has helped me to develop a strong body and mind that I've carried with me through the rest of my life. The laser focus and discipline I had worked so hard on growing up has helped me to navigate my life much better as an adult then I ever would've been able to without the sport of gymnastics.

Gymnastics have been through it's own ups and downs. I have witnessed it in all aspects of the sport from training in the gym, competing in competitions, coaching, judging, and working our Foxy's booths at competitions still to this day, 40 years later. One thing that has stayed consistent through it all though is the passion and love of the sport I see from kids and parents all around the world. I've been lucky to see all aspects from the inside out. This sport has been one of the oldest sports in history and will be around til the end of time.
