4 Daily Practices to Help You BEE-come Your Most Authentic Self

O K ya'll little bees out there, so we've all heard it time and time again.. bee yourself, everyone else is already taken. Sure, it's easy to say and understand when someone says to bee yourself, but are you ever really 100% in-tune with who you really are? Do you know the true, authentic you, down to your very core you? I ask you this because most of us don't take the time to actually maybe ever really get to know so...

Without knowing so, you and the rest of the world really miss out on the unique gifts that you have to offer the world. It is so easy to get swept away into the "busy bee" way of bee-ing, and the hustle and bustle of life. We lose touch with what our very own hearts and souls have to say. So much of our thoughts, beliefs and personalities get robbed from society's collective patterns that we've all, in some way contributed to, and become accustomed to by habit.

Little by little we can find our ways back, back to the bee hive where our inner-Queen-Bee survives! There is a space where she always dwells. It is your job to find her and to never forget her.

O K, so besides wearing these very cute bee leotards, from foxy's leotards, here are a few ideas to help you get started on your journey into bee-ing your most authentic yourself:

1. SIT IN COMPLETE SILENCE

Sitting, for even just 5 minutes a day, in stillness and silence, can really help you to become in-tune with the truth of who you really are. In today's society it's really easy to get lost in the buzz of life.

-Find a comfortable seat, on a pillow or chair, and set a timer for 3-minutes (if you are a beginner, longer if you can), but build up slowly in your minutes, just as you would your repetitions in weight training. If you set too high a time, most likely you will give up.

-For 3 minutes just focus on your breathing. Let whatever thoughts are happening happen, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing. Notice your mind slowing down.

-Keep your posture nice and your face and skin soft.

-After the timer goes off slowly come out of your seat. Notice the difference in your energy, mentally and physically.

-Reapeat daily :)

2. GRAB YOUR JOURNAL

*QUESTION: If you had absolutely no responsibilities for an entire month, and had all the time and money in the world, how would you fill your days? Write what your days would look like from the moment you woke up until the time you go to bed.

-Get a paper and pen, or your tablet. Get yourself comfortable, preferable sitting up. The more details you include as you write, the better, and the clearer you will start to become about getting to know yourself a little deeper.

-Repeat asking yourself this same question once a month for the next 3 months. You may be surprised how some answer could change, or new discoveries might be made over time.

3. GET OUTSIDE FOR A BRIEF WALK

Just like the bees, we need fresh air and sunlight everyday to thrive. With the hectic schedule's of the gymnastics life, it almost impossible to get outside much, but it is so important to do, so when you have the chance do it. If you are a gym mom go for a walk while your gymnast is in practice, or go for a brief walk with your gymnast after class. This would bee a great time for both of you to catch up on your days and to unwind from gymnastics practice and work together. Even a 5-minute walk outside can do wonders for the soul. Fresh air and sunlight everyday will help give you the strength and confidence you need to bee-come your most authentic self!

4. BEE KIND AND GENTLE WITH YOURSELF AND OTHERS

The more you can live from a deeper connected space within yourself, the more kind and gentle you become with yourself and with others. This 4th step becomes the fruition of the 3-steps above. Patience is like a muscle, too. We need the steps above to help us build our patience. With patience we can bee-come kinder. Kinder in the way we talk to ourselves and others. Kinder in the way we act with our selves and with others.

It all start's with our inner dialogues, and the way we think and feel about ourselves; the things we repeat over and over to ourselves, day after day. By slowing down the scripts in our minds, we can discover the truths about ourselves that have been hidden away for some time. We can BEE come our most authentic selves when we allow the space and time to do so. Watch how much space and time open up in your life when you add these 4 practices into your days. Oh, and watch your gymnastics, studies, work, and every area of your life improve, too!

Try adding these simple practices into each day and let us know how it goes. We love hearing from you guys! You can write to jill@foxysleos.com.
